The mission of Women of Faith in Culture (WFC) is to contribute to the spiritual growth of women through biblical, theological, and worldview education, bringing God’s Word to bear on all areas of life. We believe that equipping women in this respect best prepares them for living in today’s world of ideas, in whatever sphere God has placed them. To this end, we endeavor to come alongside women’s ministries in the local church, assisting in their call to evangelize and disciple women of all ages and backgrounds according to the Titus 2 mandate.

I wish I could agree but strongly don't! Women must be free to minister or the kingdom of God will be hindered. 10 years from now the truth will be known. Gamaliel (sp?) was right -if this be God.....God is working in wonderful ways and He is using women . I am not a radical feminist, just a very concerned Christian woman Try attending Synergy this year or even just read the Blue Parakeet
Can you tell me what you disagree with? I get that God is using women, but my theology prevents me from believing that God is ever hindered by anything we do. So let's get down to the nitty gritty and talk about where the disagreement resides. If where talking about where women may serve, frankly I don't think the complementarian camp would quite accept me, and I certainly don't fall into the 1950's women's ministry camp....so let's talk details. :)

In stating this view, we do not suggest that ministry among women is secondary or inconsequential to the advancement of God’s Kingdom
Women can and are called to roles of senior pastor and elders. In fact any church with women in it needs at least one woman that is a true elder. Of course it depends on your interpretation of 1st Tim 3and many other passages. I am sure you know the debate well .I am a soft egalitarian in that I see a mutual submission in the home with husb with some "headship" rights but this does not extend to women's role in the church. Gender roles exist in the home to an extent as women birth, breastfeed and nurture small children. She is unrestricted in her roles in the church. Perpetua was a martyr in spite of her need to be a mother . Until women see the need to free women in all roles in the church there will be unnecessary predjudice.
Of course God can accomplish His will in spite of all human circumstances but there is unnecessary suffering when women are called and gifted to pastor and elder roles and someone says "no". If that belief is true (no women senior pastors and elders) every woman pastor and elder is in deep sin and needs to resign and repent. I am increasingly more passionate about this issue as I compare the Piper/Grudem/Southern Baptist theology to the heresy of the FLDS, the Institute of Basic life principles,and other cultish "put women in their place theologians" Does that mean I don't respect Piper or Grudem? Yes I respect them both and their fellow comps -but on this issue they are very wrong. Any student of the history of women and the church sees the handwriting on the wall. Women cannot go back to the days of Augustine (and Origen etc) when it was said we only reflect the image of God as we are in relationship with men, if at all. On the day of Pentecost a new day was born - the Holy Spirit empowers, equips, and uses all believers -men and women.
